    Exploring the Unknown

“We may be faced with times of darkness
but our courage can light up the way
    ahead”

    Anthony

People have been fascinated by the idea of what may be beyond the mist for generations, and both philosophers and academics have put out their own theories about what might be beyond. There are many theories on what is beyond the mist, ranging from the ancient Greeks to the present.

Many religions today follow the ancient Greeks’ belief in an omnipotent and omniscient being who existed outside of the physical world. Other theories propose a spirit world or an unexplored universe beyond the mists, a concept that appears in many fantasy stories.

Modern theories frequently centre on scientific hypotheses, such as the multiverse, parallel universes, or the possibility that the mist could serve as a portal to another realm. Others contend that the mist could be a tangible representation of our own subconsciousness or a manifestation of a yet-to-be-identified higher power.

What is beyond the mist continues to be a source of continuous intrigue and speculation, regardless of which theory one subscribes to. It acts as a reminder that there is still much to discover and that our knowledge and comprehension of the universe are still in their infancy.

From my small perspective, it’s a towering structure that rises high above the surrounding clifftop meadows. From its elevated position, the church offers a panoramic view of the rugged coastline, dotted with small coves and sandy beaches. On clear days, the far-off hills of Ireland are visible in the distance. It’s a truly magical place, one that inspires awe and wonder.

I love to explore the nooks and crannies of this historic building. The thick stone walls provide plenty of hiding spots, and I never tire of discovering new ones. The church is full of fascinating sights and sounds, from the shuffling of human feet to the rustling of birds in the rafters.

One of my favourite times to visit the church is during a storm, when the wind howls and the waves crash against the cliffs below. The church stands firm and steadfast, a beacon of hope and strength in the midst of the wild elements.

On quiet days, I’ll climb to the top of the altar and bask in the warm sunbeams that pour through the stained glass windows. I feel so small in such a big space, but it’s a peaceful feeling, as if I’m in the presence of something greater than myself.

At other times, the church is filled with the sounds of human voices singing hymns and prayers. I love to listen to the beautiful harmonies, and I feel like a part of something special and timeless.

The location of the Mwnt Church on the coast of Cardigan is truly special, a place where the beauty of nature and the majesty of human artistry come together in perfect harmony. Whether you are a mouse like me or a human, a visit to this historic site is sure to be a memorable and uplifting experience.

Sgwd Gwladys, also known as Lady Falls, is a breathtaking waterfall located in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales. The falls is named after the Welsh princess Gwladys, who was born around AD 460, and was the daughter of King Brychan of Brycheiniog. Legend has it that she fell in love with a man called Einon, and though she could not be with him in life, she is forever with him on the River Pyrddin as the waterfall Sgwd Einon Gam is located several hundred metres upstream.

The waterfall is a popular spot for visitors to the national park, and it’s easy to see why. The water cascades down a steep rock face, creating a beautiful curtain of water that sparkles in the sunlight. The sound of the water falling is soothing, and the mist created by the waterfall provides a refreshing coolness on a hot summer’s day. This waterfall is also good for wild swimming.

The Brecon Beacons is a beautiful area, and Sgwd Gwladys is just one of many natural wonders that visitors can enjoy. The national park is home to a wide range of wildlife, including red kites, buzzards, and peregrine falcons. There are also many walking trails that take visitors through the stunning scenery, including the Waterfall Trail, which takes visitors to Sgwd Gwladys and other nearby waterfalls

Its natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and legendary background make it a perfect spot to relax and take in the stunning scenery. Whether you’re a nature lover or just looking for a peaceful place to unwind, Sgwd Gwladys is sure to impress.

    Embracing the Unknown
Tap to view in my redbubble gallery.

Life can often feel like a long and winding road. It’s full of twists and turns, ups and downs, and sometimes it can feel like we’re going in circles. We all have moments when we feel lost and unsure of where we’re headed. It can be easy to get caught up in the daily grind and lose sight of the bigger picture.

But as we journey along this road, we learn and grow. We discover new things about ourselves and the world around us. We make mistakes and learn from them. We meet new people and form meaningful relationships. We experience joy and happiness, as well as sadness and disappointment.

It’s important to remember that the road of life is not always easy, but it’s worth the journey. We may encounter obstacles and roadblocks along the way, but we can always find a way to overcome them. Life is a journey, not a destination. It’s about the experiences we have and the lessons we learn along the way.

One of the most important things we can do is to be present in the moment. We can’t change the past, and we can’t predict the future, but we can make the most of the present. We should try to enjoy the journey and appreciate the little things in life. The beauty of nature, the laughter of a child, the warmth of a hug from a loved one, these are the things that make life worth living.

Life may be a long and winding road, but it’s also a beautiful one. It’s a journey that is filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and experience the world around us. We should embrace the journey, and have the courage to face whatever challenges come our way. With a positive attitude, perseverance, and a sense of adventure, we can navigate the long and winding road of life with grace and optimism.

In the end, no matter how long and winding the road of life may be, it’s important to remember that we are not alone on this journey. We have friends, family, and loved ones who are there to support us. We are all in this together, and by working together, we can make the long and winding road of life a little bit easier to navigate, and a little more beautiful.

    The Beach Ride to remember
Tap to view my redbubble gallery.

Riding my trusty steed, Ginger, along the beach with my beloved companion, Bella, by my side, is a memory that will forever be etched in my mind. The gentle sway of the horse’s gait, the crisp sea air in my lungs and the sound of Bella’s happy barking, all combine to create a sense of nostalgia that takes me back to simpler, carefree times.

It was a sunny morning, the kind that promises a perfect day ahead, when we set out on our adventure. As we made our way to the beach, Bella, a black Labrador Retriever, couldn’t contain her excitement, leaping and bounding beside us. And Ginger, my chestnut mare, with her wise and steady gaze, seemed to sense the joy in the air.

As soon as we hit the sand, Bella took off, running circles around us as we walked along the water’s edge. The cool sea spray and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore created a symphony of sensations that invigorated the soul. It was a moment of pure, unadulterated bliss as we rode along, taking in the breathtaking views of the sea and the sky

    Hooves pounding the earth,
    The dog runs beside,
    With endless joy and mirth,
    Our bond will never subside

    Anthony

As the morning turned into afternoon, the clouds started to roll in and a chill wind picked up, signaling that it was time for us to head back. But not before we paused to take in one final vista of the sea, a reminder of the beauty we had just experienced.

We made our way back home, Bella sticking close by as the first drops of rain began to fall. As we dismounted and gave Ginger a well-deserved rubdown, the memories of our adventure came flooding back. The bond between humans, dogs, and horses is a special one, and I was lucky enough to have experienced it on this perfect day.

As I sit here, looking out at the stormy sea, I can’t help but feel a sense of longing for those carefree days when Bella, Ginger and I roamed the beach together. It’s a memory that will always stay with me, a reminder of a simpler time when all that mattered was the company of my beloved companions and the beauty of the sea.

    A Celebration of Nature’s Gifts
    Tap to view redbubble.

There is something magical about old, majestic trees standing alone in a field. They seem to have a sense of timelessness and strength, as if they have seen it all and are here to stay. This is certainly the case for the big, old crab apple tree that stands in the middle of a field on the edge of town.

On foggy mornings, the tree seems to take on a particularly ethereal quality. The soft, swirling mist envelops the tree, making it appear as if it is rising up out of a dream. The gnarled branches reach out into the fog, as if they are reaching for something just beyond our sight.

Despite its age, the tree is still strong and vital. Its branches are laden with glossy, dark green leaves in the summer and a riot of red and orange in the fall. In the spring, the tree is covered in a blanket of delicate pink and white blossoms, attracting swarms of bees and other pollinators.

But it is in the fall, when the tree is heavy with fruit, that it truly comes into its own. The crab apples hang like bright, shiny orbs from the branches, waiting to be plucked and turned into pies, jams, and jellies.

As the fog lifts and the sun breaks through the clouds, the tree is bathed in a warm, golden light. It is a sight to behold, and one that never fails to take my breath away.

The big, old crab apple tree in the middle of the field is more than just a tree. It is a reminder of the beauty and resilience of nature, and of the passage of time. It is a place of solace and contemplation, and a source of joy and inspiration.

    Autumnal Magic

A Glimpse of Beauty in Decay
    Tap to view in redbubble

As I walked through the rust-colored woods on a crisp autumn morning, the sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon. The leaves on the trees were mostly on the ground making the path a thick carpet of fallen leaves. I could hear the crunch of my boots on the leaves as I made my way down the winding path that led to the lake.

As I approached the lake, I could see that the water was frozen solid, the surface covered with a thin layer of snow. In the center of the lake, there was a small island, and on the island stood a beautiful old church. The church was made of stone and had a steeple that reached towards the sky. The windows were stained glass, and the doors were heavy oak.

I walked out onto the frozen lake, the ice creaking beneath my feet. As I got closer to the island, I could see that the church was in a state of disrepair. The roof was missing tiles, and the stone walls were covered in vines and moss. Despite its dilapidated state, the church had a certain charm and beauty about it.

I stood in front of the church for a moment, admiring the way the sunlight filtered through the stained glass windows and cast a warm, golden glow on the interior. The church was silent and still, frozen in time, waiting for a congregation to thaw it back to life.

As I turned to leave, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of sadness. The church on the island in the frozen lake was a beautiful and peaceful place, but it seemed to be forgotten and left to decay. I could only hope that one day, someone would come along and restore it to its former glory.

A single silhouette of a tree stands tall against the vast expanse of the horizon. It is a striking image, one that captures the majesty of nature. The tree stands alone, a solitary sentinel against the ever-changing backdrop of the sky.

As the sun rises and sets, the horizons shift and change. In the morning, the sky is awash with the golden glow of the rising sun, casting a warm and inviting light over the landscape. As the day progresses, the sun moves higher in the sky, the light growing brighter and more intense.

In the evening, the horizon takes on a different hue, as the sun sinks lower in the sky. The sky is painted in shades of orange and pink, the colors blending and shifting as the sun dips below the horizon. And as the night falls, the tree stands tall and proud, a steadfast presence in the darkness.

  • Stumbling Upon a Hipster Walkway

    Stumbling Upon a Hipster Walkway

    Rocky path
    Tap to see in redbubble

The other day, I was out for a walk and stumbled upon a path made out of old slate slabs and gravel. As I strolled along, I couldn’t help but think to myself, “This is the epitome of a hipster walkway.”
The slate slabs were clearly salvaged from some old building, probably an abandoned schoolhouse or a decrepit barn. And the gravel? It was obviously sourced from a local, organic quarry. I mean, it’s not like they just went to Jewson’s and picked up a bag of generic pea gravel. No, this was artisanal gravel, hand-selected and placed with the utmost care.

But the real kicker was the fact that the path was slightly uneven and uncomfortable to walk on. I mean, who needs a smooth, level surface when you can have a treacherous minefield of jagged slate and loose gravel underfoot? Clearly, the creators of this path were going for the “rustic” look, and they definitely achieved it.

As I continued my walk, I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself that this path was the perfect representation of hipsterdom: it was funky, quirky, and just a little bit uncomfortable. And that’s why I love it. So here’s to you, old slate slab and gravel path. You may be rough around the edges, but you’re definitely one-of-a-kind.
